About the role

As part of this process Psychology has expanded rapidly both in terms of research activity and number of students studying undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The School of Psychology has undergone a period of expansion resulting in a vibrant research and learning culture.
The School currently has four research themes (Health & Clinical; Social, Forensic & Cyber; Perception; Attention, Spatial Cognition & Reading) and further research groups representing our staff expertise (Gambling, Sexual Violence, Emotions (incl. Eating Disorders), Situated Cognition, Orthorexia Nervosa). Facilities supporting our teaching and research include eye‑tracking (with 6 mobile and static eye trackers), virtual reality, brain stimulation (tDCS, TMS), electrophysiological recording (EEG), and behavioural laboratories as well as fMRI provided by the Institute of Medical Imaging and Visualisation, and nutrition laboratories provided by the Department of Nutrition Science.
Role & Skills
We seek to appoint a lecturer on a 0.9 FTE basis to join our dynamic team. Candidates will be qualified to Doctorate level (e.g., PhD) or be in the final stages of completing their doctoral studies. They will be research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
Experience in designing and delivering engaging teaching is essential. You will be adept at using IT, planning, organising and managing conflicting priorities.
Position Details
This position is offered on a fixed‑term basis until 1st September 2027, to cover the maternity leave of an established member of staff. Consideration may also be given to the position being offered as a secondment opportunity but this would need to be discussed with their line managers prior to application.
This position is available part‑time for 33.3 hours per week or 0.9 FTE.
This position is open to Bournemouth University staff and agency staff currently working at Bournemouth University only.
