Location: Croydon
Shift Pattern: Choice of shift pattern (7am–3pm, 8am–4pm, or 10am–6pm)
Rate of Pay: £22ph
Contract: Permanent
About The Company:
An independent commercial vehicle repair and maintenance business in Croydon with a busy 8,000 sq ft workshop. Many of the Technicians have been with the business for many years.
You’ll be working on a wide variety of vehicles including HGVs, trailers and LCVs. The workshop is well equipped with 3 ramps, more than 5 bays, and a brake roller tester – everything you’d expect to help a good HGV Technician do the job properly.
The Role
As an HGV Technician with us, your day-to-day will include:
Routine servicing, inspections, and MOT preparation on HGVs, trailers, and LCVs
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Using diagnostic equipment to identify issues quickly and accurately
Working closely with other technicians and the workshop manager to prioritise jobs
Maintaining a tidy, safe and well-organised work area
Hours & Pay
Choose one of the following shifts: 7am–3pm, 8am–4pm, or 10am–6pm
Overtime available before/after shifts and Saturday mornings
£22 per hour (basic) / £25 per hour (overtime)
What We’re Looking For
We’re after an experienced HGV Technician with a solid background in commercial vehicle maintenance and repair. Ideally, you’ll have:
A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
A proactive approach to work with the ability to manage your own workload
A full UK driving licence (an HGV licence would be a bonus, but not essential)
