Target start: January 2027 (flexible from October 2026)

The Lubavitch Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership across our three schools in London, guided by our Lubavitch Jewish values and ethos.

ABOUT THE TRUST

The Lubavitch Multi-Academy Trust, under the auspices of Chabad Lubavitch UK, provides Jewish education in London rooted in the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Our three schools - a Boys' Junior, Girls' Junior, and Girls' Senior - offer a distinctive dual curriculum spanning both Kodesh and Chol. Graduates go on to contribute to Jewish communities and religious, educational, and social initiatives worldwide.

THE ROLE

The CEO is accountable to the Board of Trustees for the strategic leadership and compliant management of the Trust. As Accounting Officer, the CEO holds ultimate responsibility for the responsible use of public funds and adherence to the Academy Trust Handbook. Equally, the CEO serves as the guardian of the Trust's unique Lubavitch Jewish ethos - ensuring its values permeate every aspect of school life, curriculum, and community relations.

The role involves direct line management of two Headteachers and the Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Accounting Officer: responsible use of public funds and full compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook
* Faith leadership: preserving and developing the Lubavitch ethos across all academies
* Strategic oversight: leading the Trust's vision and driving performance across all schools
* Safeguarding: ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ethos and strategic leadership

* Lead the Trust in accordance with its Lubavitch Jewish values, ensuring these principles permeate the curriculum, school life, and community relations
* Support the Board in developing long-term strategic and improvement plans that reflect the Trust's religious mission
* Act as the principal executive link between the Trust Board and the Trust’s Religious Authority, ensuring that educational, governance, and faith expectations are aligned and appropriately discharged
* Maintain effective relationships with key partners, including the DfE and relevant Religious Authorities
* Act as the primary outward-facing representative for the Trust within the wider Jewish community and the education sector

Leadership and management

* Directly line-manage and support the Headteachers to ensure high standards across Kodesh and Chol curricula
* Line-manage the CFO to ensure the Trust's central operations and financial health are robust
* Facilitate effective communication across the Trust with all stakeholders
* Model a commitment to continuous improvement in staff recruitment and CPD

Quality of education and pupil outcomes

* Hold Headteachers accountable for academic excellence and quality of teaching and learning across Kodesh and Chol
* Ensure the curriculum meets statutory requirements while remaining deeply rooted in the Trust's Lubavitch educational vision
* Establish and lead a coherent trust-wide framework for continuous school improvement, including shared expectations, performance monitoring, executive challenge, and targeted intervention where outcomes, safeguarding, or leadership capacity are at risk
* Ensure that schools are continuously inspection‑ready and that trust-wide improvement systems, governance oversight, and executive assurance meet Ofsted expectations
* Act as the senior management lead for Ofsted engagement, working with Headteachers and Trustees before, during, and after inspection
* Ensure robust trust-wide arrangements for SEND, inclusion, attendance, and behaviour, working with Headteachers to secure compliance, high‑quality provision, and improved outcomes for vulnerable pupils
* Oversee school-to‑school support to ensure best practices are shared across the academies

Finance, procurement, and compliance

* Oversee budget‑setting, financial monitoring, and internal reporting to the Board
* Ensure compliance with ESFA, Charity Commission, and Companies House requirements
* Oversee the financial sustainability of the Trust, including income generation and grant applications
* Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies are rigorously implemented across every school

PERSON SPECIFICATION
