We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly motivated Conveyancer to join Sutherland & Co Law. This role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services while protecting clients’ interests and supporting the firm’s reputation for excellence. Success in this position means efficiently managing your own caseload, providing expert advice, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and consistently delivering an outstanding client experience. You will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s mission, upholding its values, and promoting its services. Act as an ambassador for Sutherland & Co Law, promoting the firm’s values.

Responsibilities
* Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and professional service to all clients.
* Protect the firm against complaints by ensuring service of the highest quality.
* Safeguard clients’ interests while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering.
* Manage all financial aspects of transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information at all times.
* Manage your caseload efficiently, providing expert legal advice in conveyancing matters.
* Comply with SRA and COLP/COFA compliance rules.
* Stay up to date with legal changes and continuously develop personal skills.
* Draft and approve complex legal documents and correspondence.
* Take clear instructions, maintain records, and actively progress transactions using internal systems.
* Conduct legal research and provide accurate advice.
* Maintain files using Redbrick in compliance with firm procedures.
* Ensure prompt closure of files with balanced ledgers.
* Respond to calls and record information accurately.
* Ensure all written communication, including emails and post, is clear and concise.
* Keep files tidy and up to date, following opening and closing procedures.
* Manage post-completion matters promptly, ensuring client and lender protection.
* Prepare financial documentation, including completion statements and billing, accurately.
* Meet all deadlines within specified timeframes.
* Promote the firm’s services and maintain high standards of delivery.
* Support the team flexibly, depending on workload and capacity
* Maintain a flexible approach to working hours and duties as needed
Qualifications
Paralegal or conveyancing experience is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple files efficiently while delivering high-quality service.
Knowledge of conveyancing processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures.
Proficiency with legal software (e.g. case management system) and Microsoft Office.
Team-oriented, flexible, and proactive approach.
