We are seeking an experienced and motivated Microbiology Team Leader to oversee and manage microbiology laboratory operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain quality assurance, and lead a team of microbiologists in conducting microbial testing, research, and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise the microbiology team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to SOPs.
* Perform microbiological testing, including sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and microbial identification.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
* Develop, validate, and implement microbiological methods and procedures.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality control, product development, and troubleshooting.
* Maintain laboratory records, analyze data, and prepare reports for regulatory submissions.
* Train and mentor team members, ensuring continuous professional development.
* Ensure the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
* Investigate microbiological OOS, deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in microbiology.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's/Master’s/Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
* Minimum 4 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or biotechnology industry.
* Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods, contamination control, and regulatory guidelines.
* Experience in leading a team, with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in laboratory documentation, data interpretation, and reporting.
* Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with sterility assurance, validation studies, and risk assessments.
* Certification in microbiology or quality assurance.
* Hands‑on experience with advanced microbiological techniques and instrumentation.
