Internal Account Manager - (Gravesend)
Location: Gravesend (Office-based)Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused office based Account Manager to join our Packaging & Components sales team based in Gravesend.
This is an account management-focused role where you'll build and maintain strong customer relationships, manage incoming enquiries, and support sales growth through excellent service and account development. Please note: this role does not include commission or bonus schemes there is no cold calling as such pure account mangement.
You'll also play a part in supporting wider commercial activities such as market research and contributing ideas towards new product development, helping the business stay ahead of customer needs and market trends.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Customer Support
* Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business
* Handle incoming enquiries and follow up on prospective customer activity from the external sales team
* Convert sales leads into orders through proactive communication and follow-up
* Identify opportunities for account growth through upselling and cross-selling
* Collaborate closely with field sales teams to ensure a joined-up customer approach
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system
Marketing & Product Development
* Conduct outbound calls to existing customers to promote products and services
* reaserching leads and passing to field team
* Support marketing campaigns and new product initiatives
* Provide feedback on customer needs, product performance, and market demand
* Work with marketing to help deliver effective campaigns
* Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations
* Share customer insights with commercial and product teams
Collaboration & Coordination
* Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service delivery
* Contribute to monthly sales reviews and performance tracking
* Support continuous improvement in processes and customer experience
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience in account management role, ideally within packaging, trade, or B2B environments
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships over phone and email
* Commercial awareness and interest in market trends
* Comfortable working towards sales targets and KPIs
* Well-organised, self-motivated, and confident using IT systems (Outlook, Excel, CRM)
