Job Summary
Provides clerical support using standard work to assist in the delivery of quality health care services.
Essential Functions
1. Serves as a concierge - greets and communicates with patients or visitors.
2. Performs clerical functions, including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments using decision trees where applicable, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, processing mail and supply deliveries, and managing registration reports. Responsible for identifying and reminding patients of health maintenance gaps. Documents patient phone calls in EHR for call routing and resolution.
3. Performs patient registration and check-in: confirms demographic and insurance information; assists with self-registration and arrival. Performs patient check-out: schedules follow-up appointments or confirms future appointments.
4. Maintains patient medical records according to standards; uploads documents into EPIC via Right Fax. Responsible for basic EMR/EHR scanning.
5. Participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures, completing safety-related competencies and requirements timely.
Qualifications
Required
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Two years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab support, or related fields
Preferred
* Vocational/Technical certificate from college or technical school (based on Corewell Health entity and department)

Hours of Work: 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends
Days Worked: Sunday to Saturday
Weekend Frequency: Every third weekend
