JOB TITLE: Senior Purchasing Co-ordinator LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent WORKING HOURS: 8am - 4.30pm Are you an experienced procurement professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for efficiency? We’re looking for a Senior Purchasing Coordinator to play a vital role in ensuring that goods, materials, and components are sourced at the right cost, quality, and delivery standards—especially during our busiest periods. Some of your key responsibilities Daily running of our MRP system to generate purchase and work orders to send to suppliers and internal departments. Maintaining and analysing system stock levels, comparing against sales forecasting needs and any economic situations which may adversely affect our supply chain. Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery lead-times ensuring any changes or delays are efficiently communicated internally delays minimising disruption to customer delivery requirements. Alongside the Purchasing Manager, negotiating with suppliers on any price increases and identify savings where possible. Maintaining the costing database promptly and accurately to avoid invoice queries. Main point of contact for day-to-day internal purchasing queries. Resolve issues relating to planning conflicts & issues. Assist with Goods In requests from suppliers, liaising with the Goods In Team as necessary Continuously monitor and record supplier performance dealing with poor service delivery promptly and professionally. Ensure all purchase orders are placed within 48 hours of suggested demand, reacting sooner if required during peak times. Ensure OTIF for all deliveries and immediately deal with any shortages notified by the warehouse. Work closely with the warehouse team and resolve issues with the suppliers when stock discrepancies arise to include, but not limited to, matters such as incorrect product received, poor paperwork, unannounced deliveries and no shows. Requirements Previous Purchasing experience ideally within a manufacturing background. Excellent IT and Microsoft office skills, particularly Outlook and Excel with the capability to use and manage tasks through an MRP system. Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred. GCSE minimum C grade in English & Maths with strong numerical skills. Ability to work calmly under pressure, to exceptionally tight deadlines with a meticulous eye for detaill. Ability to interpret designs & technical drawings. An understanding of procurement and supply chain principles. Happy to work to tight deadlines with exceptional time-management skills. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Efficient, accurate and disciplined process-driven administration skills. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects with potentially conflicting requirements. Driven, exceeds goals, handles pressure, anticipates & removes barriers.
