This role puts you at the centre of how we win major contracts and accelerate our B2B growth. As our Tender Specialist, you'll lead high‑value bids from start to finish, spotting opportunities, gathering insights, shaping standout narratives and delivering competitive tender submissions that elevate how Screwfix shows up in the market. You'll also build a central tender hub packed with smart tools, templates and reusable content that transforms how the whole business responds to opportunities. Working closely with senior leaders across B2B, Commercial Ops and Category teams, you'll influence strategy, refine how we win, and turn our strengths into compelling stories that land major contracts. This is a role where your ideas matter, your expertise is visible at board level, and your work delivers clear, measurable commercial impact, giving you ownership, influence and the chance to shape the future of our growth.

Key responsibilities
Tender Leadership
Lead the end-to-end process for large tenders, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions which enable us to drive growth and market share
Support colleagues across the business with smaller tenders, offering guidance and best practice to support education and continuous improvement
Manage bid governance including go/no-go decisions and compliance checks
Centralised Tender Management
Create and maintain a central repository of tender information, templates, and tools
Aggregate relevant data across departments to support tender responses
Maintain a content library of reusable answers, case studies, and compliance
documents to support ongoing decision making and efficiency
Strategic Disruption & Commercial Engagement
Work with and collaborate with Operations Lead and Sector Senior Managers as to agree our key strategic priorities, goals and measures of success for the year
Act as the primary point of contact for engaging with Commercial Operations and other teams, additionally acting as an ambassador for B2B
Ensure the correct portfolio and product listings are available ahead of tender deadlines ·
Proactively seek out plans, product updates, and commercial inputs in advance
Challenge existing processes to improve speed, accuracy, and competitiveness, offering ideas/suggestions/builds to support continuous improvement
Strategy & Enablement
Develop and implement agreed strategies to improve win rates and competitiveness in tenders, sharing with wider team to support our growth plan ·
Build scalable tools and resources that enable the wider team to respond effectively to tender opportunities ·
Translate Screwfix's value proposition (speed, availability, Own Exclusive Brands) into compelling tender narratives.
Portfolio Strategy & Readiness
Analyse market trends and customer needs to inform portfolio positioning within tenders, and to influence informed decision making and stakeholder management ·
Plan and coordinate supplier onboarding and product listing readiness to meet tender timelines
Compliance & Frameworks
Ensure adherence to relevant procurement regulations and framework requirements
Embed Kingfisher ethical sourcing and supplier standards into tender responses
Stakeholder Engagement & Performance Communication
Provide regular updates to the B2B Leadership Team and Board during performance review meetings, ensuring visibility of tender pipeline, win rates, and strategic progress ·
Lead or actively contribute to cross functional meetings related to tender strategy, portfolio readiness, and commercial alignment
Required skills & experience
Proven experience managing complex tenders in a B2B or commercial environment
Strong project management and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication ·
Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments
Commercial acumen and strategic thinking
Experience with pricing models, benchmarking, and competitive analysis Experience using tender management software or CRM platforms
