We are working with an established manufacturer in Oldham who are looking for a Purchasing Manager who will oversee the process of buying materials, parts and services.
The Job
1. Identify appropriate suppliers and maintain an accurate and well-maintained list of approved suppliers.
2. Monitor the performance of suppliers and make recommendations for corrective actions or change.
3. Procure materials, parts etc. in line with the MRP demands and specific individual requirements.
4. Obtain the best price at any one time, or negotiate acceptable prices for material, parts and services.
5. Process any purchase orders and raise the necessary documentation, including where appropriate, the current engineering drawings.
6. Plan the release of internal works orders so that we can achieve customer delivery dates.
7. Schedule work on key resources and monitor the performance against these schedules.
8. Advise available to promise dates for customer orders.
