This includes all matters which fall under Building Regulations legislation including the validation and processing of statutory and non-statutory fees as well as carrying out pre-application consultations, street naming and postal numbering, the processing of property certificates, dealing with dangerous structures, dilapidated buildings and neglected sites, the enforcement of energy performance of Buildings Regulations, the completion of fire risk assessments and disability access audits with respect to council buildings the co-ordination and delivery of the Energy Efficiency Advice Service and Home Accident Prevention Service, and advice to internal customers with respect to licensing where appropriate. This post will have the responsibility for developing, delivering and leading statutory inspection programmes, education and the enforcement of relevant legislation. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
