We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Team Manager to join our Can I Act (CIA) team in Manchester or Bristol. This role is offered on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis of 12–18 months.
Responsibilities
* Supervision of compliance analysts undertaking CDD/KYC ongoing monitoring and matter risk assessment operations, ensuring adherence to AML regulations and internal processes.
* Supervise up to 4 compliance analysts of different skill levels, providing ad‑hoc support to the wider team when needed.
* Act as the point of contact for queries within the CIA Team, as well as fee earners and other stakeholders.
* Provide clear, accurate advice regarding CDD/KYC requirements, completion of matter risk assessments and internal processes.
* Interpret AML regulations and internal policies to make risk‑based decisions when advising clients and matters.
* Ensure work is organized and prioritized to meet strict SLAs.
* Generate regular progress reports and custom reports for specific teams or stakeholders.
* Undertake quality checking and auditing of analysts under supervision, ensuring high standards and accurate records.
* Actively mentor and support direct reports to help them grow in their role.
* Collaborate with other Team Leaders to contribute to overall team operations, sharing ideas, skills, and tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience working in compliance for a law firm in CDD/KYC, ideally with matter risk assessment.
* Team leadership or management experience, or experience supporting junior team members.
* Strong research and analytical skills with motivation to find answers and solve problems.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* High attention to detail and accurate data inputting.
* Legal qualification is desirable but not essential.
