Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Department: Engineering / MaintenanceAnnual Salary: £56,780Shift Pattern: 4 on/off - 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6amEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentAbout the OpportunityWe are looking for a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team within a high-volume sauce production facility.You will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure maximum reliability, food safety compliance, and minimal production downtime.What You'll Be Doing Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging machineryRespond quickly and effectively to breakdownsDiagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults Maintain and repair: Mixing vessels and blendersPumps, fillers, cappers, and conveyorsPasteurisers, cookers, and heat exchangersPackaging and labelling machineryElectrical Systems & Controls Fault find on single and three-phase electrical systemsPLC fault finding (programming not required unless specified)Maintain sensors, motors, inverters, and control panelsEnsure compliance with electrical safety standards Quality, Hygiene & Compliance Work in line with BRCGS, HACCP, and GMP standardsEnsure all engineering tasks meet food safety requirementsMaintain accurate maintenance documentationSupport audits and site inspections Improvement & Innovation Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and efficiencySupport installation and commissioning of new machineryAssist with root cause analysis and corrective actionsContribute to cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives Safety First Comply with UK Health & Safety legislationFollow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) proceduresMaintain a clean and safe working environmentReport hazards and near misses promptly What We're Looking For Essential Requirements Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent)Experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within food manufacturingStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilityExperience with high-speed production and packaging linesKnowledge of food safety and hygiene standardsAbility to work independently and within a teamWillingness to work shifts and attend call-outs Desirable Skills Experience in sauce, condiment, or liquid food manufacturingPLC fault-finding experience (Siemens / Allen Bradley preferred)18th Edition Wiring RegulationsCMMS system experienceLean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure Who You Are Proactive and solution-focusedDetail-orientedStrong communicatorCalm under pressureFlexible and adaptable Please click APPLY now for this great opportunity as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer!
