What You’ll Do: As a Sous Chef, you’ll work alongside our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include: • Planning and managing food preparation to deliver 5-star quality dishes. • Leading the kitchen team during the Head Chef’s absence. • Running specific sections of the kitchen with precision and creativity. • Ensuring stock rotation practices to minimise waste and maintain freshness. • Conducting stock takes and assisting with produce orders. • Training and mentoring kitchen team members to enhance their skills. • Creating and managing staff rotas to ensure efficient coverage. • Maintaining hygiene standards through structured cleaning schedules. • Supporting menu planning and the creation of seasonal specials. What We’re Looking For: We need someone with a love for food, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering excellence. While the following skills are essential, we’d still love to hear from you if you’re passionate about this role and eager to learn: • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role. • Strong understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations. • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. • Experience in stock control and ordering. • Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Bonus Points: • Culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). • Experience in menu development and catering for diverse dietary needs. • Familiarity with sustainable food practices.
