Manufacturing Engineer - St. Neots - Salary up to £48,000 depending on experience
Working for a world leader within the aircraft manufacturing industry the Manufacturing Engineer will perform manufacturing engineering tasks relating to the development and production of electronic and electro-mech assemblies. The ideal candidate will be qualified to BTEC Level 3 or above in manufacturing engineering or similar and will have experience working within electronic manufacture. Duties:
* Support Engineering in ensuring manufacturability of new designs and in developing electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Assist Technical Planning in creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation (SAP routings, work instructions, drawings, and specifications).
* Manage product costs during development and into production.
* Define optimal manufacturing methods and processes based on design requirements.
* Collaborate with the Test Department to implement suitable testing solutions.
* Oversee development and first-build of assemblies to ensure production readiness.
* Work with Sales, Engineering, and Quality to ensure customer requirements are fully captured.
* Implement and manage engineering changes in production environments.
* Act as technical liaison for build-to-print customer products.
* Support training programs and deliver relevant technical instruction when required.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across processes and production.
* Assist with equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
* Support root cause analysis and corrective actions through the MRB process.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A BTEC Level 3 or above in manufacturing engineering or similar is necessary
* Manufacturing engineering experience, in a low to medium volume electronics production environment - including surface mount, PTH, PCBA cleaning and conformal coating is required
* Practical experience of Lean Manufacturing Principals is necessary
* Solidworks experience preferable
* An understanding of SAP ERP and CAD processes is preferred
* Aerospace and/or Defence industry experience would be ideal
* Good communication and teamworking skills are required
