Transport Planning Professional - Principal Grade
SLR’s Exeter transport planning team provides advice to clients across sectors including residential, commercial, retail, and energy on projects ranging from new settlements to small-scale landowner developments.
We work across the private and public sectors, primarily focusing on the southwest peninsula and the south coast of England. Our team is agile, with projects extending across the UK and collaborations with international colleagues in the USA and Australia.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning professional at the Principal level to join our Exeter office. The role involves project delivery and client and team management activities.
What you will do:
* Utilize professional judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions.
* Deliver Vision-Led Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans.
* Assist with wider transport planning projects, including bespoke EV advisory services.
* Manage client relationships to secure work and negotiate fee proposals.
* Plan and execute marketing activities.
* Ensure the profitability of designated projects.
* Keep updated on relevant technical, legal, and policy developments.
* Develop colleagues within the project team.
* Provide guidance on quality standards and technical issues.

About you
* Relevant degree or higher qualification and membership of a professional body such as MCIHT.
* Experience at a similar level within transport planning in a consultancy or comparable environment.
* Proven project delivery, leadership, and client management skills.
* Strong software modeling skills, e.g., ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG.
