Reporting to: Interim Head of Global Program Funding Opportunities Responsible for: None Hours: 35 hours a week Contract: Full-time - 9-month duration Interim Background Women for Women International invests where inequality is greatest by helping women who are forgotten — the women survivors of war and conflict. In Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan, women learn skills to rebuild their families and communities through the Women for Women International’s Stronger Women, Stronger Nations Programme. They form support networks, are equipped with the skills to earn an income and save and gain knowledge and resources about health and their rights. Since 1993, our global community has invested in the power of over 550,000 women across 17 conflict-affected countries, to create a ripple effect that makes the world more equal, peaceful, and prosperous. The Role Women for Women International has the ambition to significantly increase grant funding to support programming that has proven to be transformative for marginalized women survivors of war in fragile and conflict-affected countries. As an interim member of the Global Business Development Team, the position will support WfWI’s global business development strategies related to proposal development and writing. This position will coordinate the proposal development process and serve as lead writer for select submissions. They will help ensure that applications are of high quality, including that they are competitive and aligned with programmatic priorities and donor interests. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience in restricted fundraising, with extensive experience in writing technical proposals for an international NGO. Required Experience working in cross-departmental, cross-country contexts. Understanding of global humanitarian, development and gender funding environment and future trends. Excellent spoken and written English including research, writing, and communication skills. Commitment to and respect for Women for Women International’s mission and values Computer skills including working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email. Experience with Salesforce desirable. Ability to have a flexible work schedule which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. May be required to occasionally work beyond normally scheduled hours.
