Job purpose: The Senior Analyst will enhance our open-source research and analysis across countries in the Latin America region, driving the update and enhancement of foundational country profiles covering Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information, and Infrastructure (PMESII), CBN, and serious and organised crime domains. The successful candidate will monitor, assess, write and review ICD-203-aligned analysis reports covering domestic and external risks affecting national security and stability in Latin America. The Senior Analyst will also be required to build out serious and organised crime profiles for decision-makers and stakeholders. The Senior Analyst will report to the Lead Analyst & Manager of Latin America. How you will contribute at Janes: Lead extensive open-source research into national security and risk factors affecting Latin American member states. Update foundational intelligence products, ensuring they reflect current intelligence priorities and emerging threats in the region. Initiate and manage individual and team research projects that contribute to risk assessment products and strategic intelligence outputs. Contribute to the development of analytical methodologies and best practices across the team. The ideal skills and experience for this role are: Knowledge of Latin American security and geopolitical dynamics. Strong OSINT collection and analysis skills, with the ability to identify and interpret key indicators in complex Latin American security environments. Proven experience in risk assessment, scenario analysis, and intelligence reporting re: Latin American-related issues. Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to brief senior audiences and deliver projects under tight deadlines. Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as advanced online and electronic research capabilities. Fluency in Spanish desirable.
