Axil is looking for a Recycling Operative to play a key role in managing recycling streams, supporting site operations, and helping us drive continuous improvement in recycling and sustainability. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and where your ideas, attitude, and commitment really do matter. What you’ll be doing Exchanging and managing 1100L wheelie bins, currently for General Waste and Dry Mixed Recycling. Managing recycling processes and maintaining high standards within the compound on the customer's site. Returning full bins to the compound for sorting and processing. Carrying out daily pre-use inspections on machinery and vehicles. Keeping the compound clean, organised, and compliant at all times. Monitoring recycling levels across site and booking bin exchanges when required. Ensuring all recycling streams are segregated, stored, and processed correctly. Working closely with the customer, site staff, contract manager, and line manager to deliver excellent service to the customer. Reporting near misses, incidents, and accidents using the internal incident reporting app. Actively contributing ideas for continuous improvement and innovation for processes and procedures within Axil & on the customer site. What we’re looking for Essential Full UK driving licence Health & Safety knowledge Willingness to undertake training (including Manual Handling if required) Preferred (but not essential) FLT licence Towing experience Waste management experience Basic IT skills Hours of Work We are recruiting for different shift patterns: 4on 4off, 6am - 6pm Monday to Friday, 6am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday, 12.30pm - 9pm Pay £12.60 per hour, plus a shift allowance each week, which will be discussed at interview stage If you’re reliable, proactive, and ready to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.
