ROLE: Commercial Refrigeration Engineer
HOURS: Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
LOCATION: South Midlands (Postcodes: MK, OX, LU, HP, NN)
We're looking for a Commercial Refrigeration Engineer to join Forest, a part of Mitie, supporting a range of foodservice, hospitality, and food & drinks retail clients across the South Midlands region.
Forest is a market‑leading and national award‑winning refrigeration contractor in the Foodservice and Food/Drink retail sector, offering excellent job stability through long‑term, blue‑chip contracts. Following significant new business growth, we are expanding our engineering team. Our partnership with Mitie brings enhanced opportunity, stability, and career development.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration systems
2. Diagnose faults and carry out effective breakdown repairs
3. Ensure all work meets industry regulations and internal safety standards
4. Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams regarding completed work and recommendations
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation
6. Participate in an on‑call rota as required
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
7. Candidates must hold a current, valid F-Gas Certificate (Applicants without this will not be considered).
8. The ideal applicant will possess 10 years'+ experience working in the commercial refrigeration sector, specifically within restaurants and hospitality environments.
9. Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration systems in the foodservice/retails sector.
10. Professional, reliable, and capable of high performance, even during peak summer periods.
11. Full UK driving licence
12. Qualified to work on chilled and frozen commercial equipment
13. Must live in a postcode beginning with MK, OX, LU, HP or NN
