Our Energy, Security & Technology business focuses on providing solutions relating to the energy transition, national security, space, technological innovation, and more. Our work is aligned with critical national priorities and is built on a strong foundation of long-term contracts and deep client relationships.
What will you get?
Our Graduate Development Programme is a structured two-year scheme where we provide the framework, mentoring and experiences to help you maximise your skills and ambitions. On joining our scheme in September 2024, as a Graduate Safety Specialist, you’ll rapidly gain knowledge of how our company works and the impact that you can have to help us move towards a more connected and sustainable world.
About the opportunity
Our Safety Case Engineers work collaboratively across diverse markets in the civil nuclear and Defence sectors on both national and international projects. Our work spans the nuclear lifecycle, including next-generation systems and emerging reactor technologies, supporting the operation of existing nuclear facilities and systems, and solving complex decommissioning challenges. Our work demonstrates that the facility, system or operation can be conducted safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
As an Engineering, Science or Mathematics Graduate, you will work alongside other technical professionals with the responsibility to identify potential hazards and risks, quantify their consequences, and assess what controls or measures can prevent or mitigate them. The role involves providing safety case support across the nuclear lifecycle, including feasibility, design, operation, and decommissioning, and producing all required nuclear safety documentation. This requires engagement with multiple disciplines to ensure the appropriate balance of safety principles and engineering requirements.
Opportunities are available at our Newcastle offices.
Here's What You'll Need:
* Be working towards a Degree or Masters level qualification in a relevant subject such as science, mathematics, or engineering
* A flexible self-starter keen to drive your career forward
* Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things
* You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
