Operations Manager
Location: Kent (Head Office Based)
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 DOE + Package
About the Role
We're working with a well-established roofing and building services contractor with over 25 years of industry experience to recruit an Operations Manager with roofing experience.
This is a hands‑on role overseeing day‑to‑day operations within the roofing division, alongside responsibility for estimating and commercial input across projects.
The Role
- Office‑based (5 days per week) with occasional site visits
- Monday‑Friday, 08:00-17:00 (flexibility where workload allows)
- Active within a busy roofing division delivering UK‑wide projects
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing day‑to‑day roofing operations
- Producing estimates, quotations and cost plans
- Reviewing drawings, specs and tender documents
- Managing projects from enquiry through to completion
- Coordinating labour, materials and subcontractors
- Acting as key technical and operational contact
- Conducting site visits as required
- Supporting wider admin and operational functions
- Driving commercial control and profitability
- Ensuring compliance and strong H&S standards
What We're Looking For
- Strong roofing industry background (essential)
- Proven estimating experience in roofing (essential)
- Experience in operations, contracts or project delivery
- Strong commercial awareness and job costing understanding
- Confident managing a fast‑paced workload
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Hands‑on, practical and results‑driven approach
