Salary: £54,878 pa to c.£64,562 pa depending on skills and experience. Flexible benefits fund of 20% on top base salary, fully pensionable. Additional benefits are available on our website.

About The Role
* Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all work.
* Oversee complex acquisitions on the route, covering a diverse mix of properties from cities to rural land.
* Implement strategy for delivering the acquisition programme, ensuring timely availability of required land.
* Manage complex negotiations and relationships with landowners.
* Negotiate compensation claims within policy, legal guidelines, and budget so land is available on time.
* Build relationships with property owners, individuals, and organisations in specified regions.
* Support petitions, negotiations and valuations to meet forecast and quality requirements.
* Lead negotiations for petitions within specified areas to minimise cases reaching the select committee; prepare evidence for committee cases.
* Provide technical advice to delivery, town planning, environment and petition stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the property acquisition management team for a consistent approach.
Skills
* Manage communications and negotiations tactfully.
* Stakeholder management.
* Effective team communication.
* Public‑facing communications.
* Project management techniques.
* Report writing; data compilation and analysis.
* IT skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent.
* Access, analyse and maintain information from multiple IT databases.
Knowledge
* Chartered Surveyor (or equivalent) with knowledge of sensitive property issues.
* Understanding of the compulsory purchase process or other government compensation schemes (training provided).
Experience
* Experience in the property business, preferably land acquisition.
* Experience with suppliers, developing effective relationships and managing performance to ensure delivery.
