Social Housing Officer
We are looking for a dedicated Social Housing Officer to join our team. The role involves:
1. Preparing advertisements and promoting void properties tailored to each tenure type to facilitate lettings, reduce re-let times, and support community building.
2. Supporting Your Home colleagues in managing void times within the agreed annual targets for all relets.
3. Responding to customer inquiries, preparing sign-up packs, and negotiating incentives for hard-to-let properties to support allocations and lettings processes.
4. Processing tenancy terminations promptly and coordinating the return of keys to NCHA.
5. Maintaining accurate and timely updates of all systems and records, and producing reports related to allocations and void services as required.
6. Developing and updating information regarding new housing schemes for customers.
7. Administering schemes such as HOMESWAPPER and downsizing, including managing payments from the budget.
8. Delivering these functions in line with corporate aims, policies, and KPIs, ensuring excellent customer service and positive partner relationships, representing NCHA positively.
9. Performing any other duties as instructed by management relevant to the role.
Knowledge
* Understanding of current social housing issues.
* Qualification at Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 or equivalent, or commitment to ongoing professional development.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in social housing or lettings environment.
* Proven ability to deliver customer-focused services successfully.
* Effective communication skills demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and customer care.
* Problem-solving skills with fairness and logic.
* Strong numeracy, IT, and literacy skills.
