About The Job We're looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer with both manual and automated testing expertise to support our team in Germany. The role will include owning aspects of release management to ensure seamless and high-quality deployments. You should be comfortable with end-to-end QA workflows - from exploratory manual testing to writing and executing automated test scripts. Our team is a big believer in continuous learning, so an engineer that can adapt quickly to the challenges of a growing team is preferred for this role. What You’ll Be Doing Perform manual and automated testing on frontend (web & mobile application) and backend systems. Contribute to the expansion and maintenance of our automated test suite. Write and execute test plans and test cases for new features and regression cycles. Manage and improve release processes for deployments, ensuring a smooth pipeline from staging to production. Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers throughout the development cycle to maintain the highest Quality Standards for our systems. Document, prioritize, and track bugs using our test management tools. Identify opportunities to improve testing coverage and reliability. About You Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 5 years of professional experience as a QA engineer or QA analyst without a relevant degree. Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing. Familiarity with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TypeScript or similar frameworks. Comfortable using CI/CD pipelines and owning deployments to staging and production environments. Experience managing or contributing to release processes and post-deploy validations. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban and Waterfall). Experience with test case management and bug tracking systems (e.g., TestRail, Jira). You’re proactive, collaborative, and not afraid to go beyond your task list to help the team succeed. A desire to learn, grow, and share knowledge. Experience working with or testing Shopify-based systems would be an advantage Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher) is a strong plus.
