An established and well-regarded firm in Hertfordshire is seeking a highly experienced Senior Litigation Solicitor to lead their busy litigation department. This is a senior-level opportunity ideal for a driven individual with strong leadership skills, looking to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a department, with a clear path to Partnership.
About the Role:
You’ll handle a complex and varied caseload, including:
* Property disputes
* Landlord and tenant issues
* Commercial litigation (including partnership and shareholder disputes)
* Boundary and neighbour disputes
* Professional negligence
* Insolvency and restructuring
This position involves both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, including department leadership, mentoring junior staff, and active involvement in business development to grow the team and client base.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Litigation department with strategic direction and hands-on casework
* Manage a caseload of complex and high-value disputes
* Supervise, mentor, and support junior team members
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure cross-practice success
* Drive business development and contribute to the firm's local and regional profile
* Maintain compliance and up-to-date legal knowledge
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 7 years’ PQE in civil and commercial litigation
* Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience
* Strong client development and networking skills
* Excellent communicator with a proactive and confident approach
* Proven ability to meet financial targets and manage files independently
* Ambition and commercial awareness
