An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our friendly nursing team in the Suite 2, Maxfac Department.

Main duties of the job
You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to put patients at ease. You should be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service, having the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to improving standards of patient care.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is home to the Crooked Spire and is also close to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, thus offering numerous choices for recreational activities and lifestyles.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Education to GCSE standard or equivalent, to include Maths and English.
* QCF level 2 Clinical Healthcare support or willing to work towards.
* Health related training, first aid, moving and handling.
Experience
* Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a Healthcare setting.
* Experience in an outpatient setting.
* Experience in Maxillofacial & Orthodontic setting.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Good organisational skills.
* Basic IT skills.
* Use of patient appointment Administration system.
Personal Attributes
* Flexible and approachable.
* Professional appearance.
* Able to move (manual handling) patients and equipment eg, patient hoists, commodes etc.
* Able to deal with exposure to difficult situations and difficult patients and relatives.
* Professional approach to work.
