Due to continued growth across the North West, North East and Midlands, we are seeking a talented Senior or Associate Building Surveyor to join our Manchester office.

The Role
The successful candidate will work across both the professional and project‑led areas of our Building Surveying team.
The role is expected to have a strong project focus, with responsibility for delivering and managing multiple projects, and acting as Contract Administrator, Lead Consultant, and/or Project Manager where appropriate.
Projects are typically valued between £500,000 and £6 million and include:
* Major external refurbishment works.
* Residential and mixed‑use developments.
* Internal common parts refurbishment projects.
* Building safety and compliance‑related projects.
* Private refurbishment and improvement works.
Alongside project delivery, the role will involve providing a range of professional building surveying services including:
* Defect diagnosis and technical investigations.
* Planned maintenance programmes.
* Landlord and tenant matters.
* Party wall matters.
* General building consultancy advice.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Manage multiple projects from inception through to completion.
* Act as Contract Administrator and Lead Consultant where required.
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
* Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
* Undertake tender analysis and procurement exercises.
* Administer construction contracts and manage project delivery.
* Undertake site inspections and attend client and contractor meetings.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Provide technical advice and support across a range of building surveying disciplines.
* Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the business.
Location
The role will operate from our Manchester office with a focus on projects across the North West, North East and Midlands.
Travel to project sites and client meetings will be required.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will satisfy most of the following:
* Strong Building Surveying background within consultancy practice.
* Demonstrable experience acting as Contract Administrator and/or Project Manager.
* Excellent knowledge of the JCT suite of contracts.
* Experience of procurement, tendering and contract administration.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Experience leading project teams and managing client relationships.
* Strong report‑writing, communication and presentation skills.
* Commercially aware with a practical approach to problem solving.
* Self‑motivated, organised and capable of working independently.
* Associate‑level experience or aspirations.
* Experience of Building Safety Act compliance and higher‑risk buildings.
* Experience managing complex refurbishment and remediation projects.
* Quantity Surveying background with strong project delivery experience will also be considered where project management, cost management and contract administration experience is substantial.
