Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP who qualifies under the ARRS scheme, (newly qualified within the last two years and without a substantive post). This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, forward‑thinking practice that prioritises patient care.
We hold regular clinical meetings to openly discuss cases, and encourage shared learning.
We are looking for a newly qualified GP on a 12‑month fixed‑term salaried contract working 4 sessions per week.
This post is suitable for fully qualified GPs only. Applications from trainees, FY doctors, or applicants without full GP registration will not be considered.
Responsibilities
* Face to Face consultations
* Telephone consultations
* Online consultations
* Triage calls
* Visiting patients at home
* On call duties (Duty Doctor)
* Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
* Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
* Clinical administration
* Supporting quality improvement, enhanced services, and practice development
* Contributing to continuity of care and high clinical standards
* Work alongside a wider multi‑disciplinary team, including Practice Nurses, ACP, Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, and Social Prescriber
Professional Responsibilities
It is a condition of your employment that you are, and remain, on the GMC register and a member of a recognised Defence Organisation.
To work within The Good Practice Guidelines and agreed practice protocols.
To maintain high standards of clinical practice by ensuring application of available evidence based research and agreed protocols.
To work in collaboration with the Primary Health Care team to address identified individual and population needs.
Participate in training and education programmes.
To identify and address own learning needs by participation in the processes of personal professional and practice development planning, and maintain/update PDP through the appraisal and accreditation system.
To participate in clinical audits within the practice.
To maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records and registers in accordance with practice policy.
Clinical Responsibilities
To provide General Medical Services to registered and visiting patients of the practice.
To provide enhanced services in accordance with the relevant Service Level Agreements.
To take responsibility for patients: following up tests, completing relevant paperwork, including Medical Attendance Reports from insurance companies and answering queries.
To participate in the Duty Doctor/Triage Doctor and Repeat Prescription Doctor rotas, from 08.30 – 18.00, and arrange to swap duty days when necessary to enable annual or other leave.
To participate in the training of medical students assigned to the practice.
To action your message screen on each of your working days, ensuring all messages have been actioned before leaving at the end of each day.
To read and action your daily incoming post via Docman (electronic document management system).
To participate in the Buddy system, providing cover for a specific colleague during their absence.
To liaise with the partners regarding any problem patients you may encounter.
Additional responsibilities
To participate, on a rota basis, in extended hours service if needed.
Work constructively and supportively with the partners, Practice Business Manager and Operations Manager.
Contribute actively to change and development processes in the practice including those processes which are in partnership with other organisations.
Prepare for, attend meetings and contribute to practice decision‑making processes.
Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with the whole practice team including giving explicit praise where it is merited.
Contribute to developing and maintaining practice systems.
To attend and participate in regular practice based and external meetings such as Clinical Governance, Practice Development, GP Contract, Primary Health Care Team etc. If these meetings are held outside normal working hours, reasonable notice will be given and you will receive time off in lieu.
To participate in and operate clinical governance methods and systems approved by the relevant body, e.g., medical audit or quality assurance initiatives.
To work with other members of the team towards the achievement of the practice objectives, targets such as QOF, prescribing, raising standards in primary care, and sustaining CQC targets.

Qualifications (Essential)
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
* Evidence of Annual appraisal and revalidation
* General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained

* Special Interest in area of medicine relevant to General Practice
* Evidence of continued professional development MRCGP
Experience (Essential)
* Experience of dealing with Chronic disease management
* Experience of Primary prevention & screening services
* Delivery of QoF targets
* Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
* Time management: ability to prioritise work and work under pressure

Red House Surgery is a friendly GP practice rated as ‘good’ by the CQC, with a strong training and personal development ethos. The practice serves 20,300 patients and employs a multidisciplinary team including GP's, nurses, clinical pharmacist, first contact physiotherapist, physician associate, GP assistants, managers, and patient services administrators.
