Carbon60 is seeking an Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Specialist to join a client based in Broughton. This is a contract role, likely lasting 12 months.
The APQP Specialist plays a vital role within the Manufacturing Engineering team at a leading aerospace company. You will be responsible for implementing APQP methodologies and tools to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency in aerospace manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the implementation of APQP methodologies and tools to embed quality into manufacturing processes.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute APQP plans, fostering continuous improvement.
3. Conduct risk assessments, including FMEA, to identify potential quality issues and develop mitigation strategies.
4. Define and optimize manufacturing processes and controls to meet regulatory and industry standards.
5. Facilitate design reviews, process validations, and other APQP activities to ensure readiness for production.
6. Monitor quality metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
7. Lead problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
* At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, focusing on APQP and quality planning in aerospace or aeronautics.
* Deep knowledge of APQP methodologies, tools, and standards.
* Understanding of regulatory standards such as AS9100 and their application.
* Experience with risk assessment techniques like FMEA and control plan development.
* Knowledge of process optimization, Lean, and Six Sigma principles.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
