Opportunity for an SH&E Advisor to join our award-winning Environment & Energy SH&E Team. This position can be based at any of our main office locations, with a preference for London and Southeast areas due to large client projects in these regions.
The Health and Safety Advisor will collaborate with the Health and Safety Lead to deliver best practices in health and safety during the design and pre-construction phases of one of the UK's largest energy upgrade projects, spanning 8 to 10 years.
Within the AECOM Arup joint venture, this role supports the project team in safeguarding the health and safety of all staff and affected parties. Responsibilities include developing technical health & safety deliverables, overseeing project planning and work execution, supporting safety culture initiatives, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Champion: Advocate for health, safety, and environmental wellbeing, promoting continuous improvement and safety culture maturity.
2. Management Systems: Implement health and safety protocols with the project team.
3. Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and delivery partners.
4. SH&E Promotion: Support safety initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness.
5. Advice & Support: Provide safety guidance to project personnel.
6. Team Collaboration: Work effectively within the HS&E team.
7. Meetings & Reporting: Participate in safety meetings and generate performance reports.
8. Assurance & Investigations: Conduct safety assurance activities and incident investigations.
Qualifications:
* Experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in energy, construction, or pre-construction projects.
* Formal health and safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate.
* Effective team collaboration and decision-making skills.
