Product Engineering at JLR is centered on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyze performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

This role is responsible for designing and developing JLR Propulsion systems and capabilities within the system engineering function layer at the logical and physical solution domain. You will be responsible for building and owning the generic system artifacts for new and existing Powertrain propulsion concepts, capabilities, and features in the (xHEV Diesel/Gasoline) space, ensuring they are legally compliant, meet customer attribute expectations, and are competitive in the market.

What to Expect

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With numerous projects and relationships to build across the business and beyond, it’s a challenging opportunity for career growth within an iconic organization. Here’s what to expect:

* Robust requirements and targets delivered on-cycle to programs.
* Development and updating of system artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards).
* Delivery of new functions via statement of capability (SOC) and Feature statement of intent (FSOI) processes.
* Identification, reporting, and resolution of system compatibility issues.
* Ensuring functions adhere to specified engineering methods, tools, and aids.
* Supporting vehicle, domain, and indirect team members’ understanding of integrated propulsion functions.
* Chairing technical reviews/forums and resolving complex cross-functional issues.

What You’ll Need

To succeed, you should have:

* Relevant experience in a Systems Engineering environment, ideally within the automotive sector.
* Experience in Propulsion/Powertrain Engineering, including Emissions-Aftertreatment/Gas-path, Base engines, 48v and HV Systems/Batteries-Charging, Torque and Energy Arbitration.
* Experience with xHEV propulsion system integration.
* Knowledge of system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, modeling, systems integration, and assessment.
* Experience applying Systems Engineering to solve complex technical issues using structured approaches.
* Experience in developing electrified propulsion systems such as MHEV, PHEV, and/or BEV.

Modern luxury at JLR involves flexible hybrid working arrangements. Some roles may require more on-site work, which can be discussed during the interview process.

We foster an inclusive and welcoming culture. Candidates requiring reasonable adjustments during recruitment are encouraged to discuss their needs with us.

Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. Even if you don’t meet all criteria, we encourage you to apply, as we believe in growth and development. JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
