Overview
The Cheshire and Merseyside Provider Collaborative (CMPC) brings together all NHS Trusts across Cheshire and Merseyside to deliver shared opportunities for provider engagement, improvement and transformation across the health and care system. The Senior Project Manager will support CMPC in achieving corporate objectives and portfolio management across the Elective Recovery and Transformation programme.
Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of projects for the Elective Recovery and Transformation programme, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initiation to closure.
* Plan, facilitate, and implement work programmes, ensuring effective reporting structures, escalation and remediation processes are in place at all times.
* Coordinate regional and national submissions on behalf of the programme manager and collaborate with the CMPC Blueprint Programme and Clinical Fragile Services Team.
* Act autonomously to prioritise daily tasks and workload, ensuring timely completion, while holding project leads accountable.
* Handle and manage complex and sensitive information such as performance data, commercial plans and strategic objectives, communicating diplomatically and maintaining professional relationships.
* Provide project management support to programme leads, including preparation of highlight reports, risk escalation and resource planning.
* Support the development of contingency plans, mitigation actions and the transition from development to business‑as‑usual.
* Lead post‑implementation reviews and lessons‑learned activities, applying project management methodology to inform future work.
* Train and coach team members in project management techniques.
Qualifications
* Experience in project management within a healthcare environment, preferably at the system level within the NHS.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and hold project leads accountable.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritise workload and meet agreed timeframes.
* Proficiency in project reporting, risk and issue management, and resource planning.
