Cardiff is growing faster than any other capital city in Europe and we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to lead the Waste Management Depot & Infrastructure Team in supporting frontline operations to deliver a high standard of service to the residents & visitors of Cardiff.
The team is also responsible for the operation of Council Weighbridges and aftercare management of its Closed Landfill Sites.
About the job
The Waste Asset & Digital Manager will oversee the implementation of digital technologies to improve operational efficiency. This full-time role involves leading the development and delivery of asset management strategies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our assets are managed effectively and sustainably to support high-quality service delivery.
This role is not suitable for flexible or agile working due to its operational nature.
The post will be based at Lamby Way Depot however you will be expected to work from various locations and may be required to work overtime during peak periods.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are seeking a confident and capable individual who can demonstrate:
* Experience in asset management, ideally within a public sector or operational environment.
* Strong understanding of health and safety, environmental compliance, and contract management.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Proficiency in digital systems and data management tools.
Desirable attributes include a recognised management qualification, experience in project delivery, and familiarity with digital asset management platforms.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our assets are managed effectively and sustainably to support high-quality service delivery.
