ABOUT THE ROLE Northumbria University is seeking an apprenticeResearch Quality and Compliance Administratorto support the Research Quality and Compliance team with a range of administrative and organisational tasks and responsibilities. This role is designed to develop key skills in administration, communication and teamwork in an exciting, supportive environment. You will work closely with the Research Excellence Framework (REF), research ethics, integrity, due diligence, and research systems teams. You will engage in a number of activities focussed on responding to queries, assisting with administrative tasks related to REF and research compliance, help maintain research systems including data entry and quality checks. The role holder will also provide support to coordination of meetings and events including scheduling, logistics and secretarial duties. Further information is available in the job description. The training provider working with us to deliver the apprenticeship is Smart Training & Recruitment. You can find further details about the training for Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship at the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Under the apprentice scheme, a minimum of six hours per week will be invested in training towards the achievement of your qualification. In addition to the support offered through the training provider, a workplace mentor will provide practical advice and guidance throughout the duration of your apprenticeship. The duration of the apprenticeship will be 24 months. ABOUT THE TEAM Join the dynamic and collaborative Research Quality and Compliance team that is part of the wider University Research and Innovation Service. Our team covers research quality, environment, ethics and integrity, due diligence, research systems management and preparation for the University's Research Excellence Framework submission. ABOUT YOU To be successful in the role you will have: A willingness to learn how to organise and manage tasks, with support from your team and manager. Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders. Experience of working with IT packages, including Microsoft Office, Outlook for diary management, and web-based tools such as SharePoint. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and collegial environment. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your work. A Level 2 qualification or higher (e.g. 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent) and relevant experience. Further information is available in the person specification.
