Job Summary: To become an integral part of the PowerGen Technical Support team, providing technical support across all aspects of Rolls-Royce Solutions power generation products and related systems, from initial conception to end of life. Responsibilities include supporting sales solutions, aftersales, and parts inquiries both internally and externally. The role may also require supporting the wider PowerGen Business unit during peak periods or absences.
Primary product range includes Diesel, Gas power generation, mtu KPP, and Battery Energy Storage Systems, with a willingness to develop knowledge in emerging products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote a zero harm culture, ensuring all HSQE requirements are met.
2. Provide first-class customer liaison and support requests.
3. Support sales solutions, aftersales, and end-user support for Rolls-Royce products, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems, within the UK, Ireland, and overseas territories.
4. Maintain project technical files and documentation.
5. Design, build, test, and commission control circuits as needed.
6. Accurately record work tasks in the CEC platform.
7. Lead the resolution of technical issues promptly.
8. Support development and review of work instructions, processes, and spare parts database.
9. Provide technical reports and presentations to management and clients.
10. Write method statements and assist with risk assessments.
11. Maintain good liaison with internal departments and external clients.
12. Visit customers and participate in witness testing and training programs.
13. Develop new technical solutions and improve technical competence.
14. Support the service team with occasional site visits.
Person Profile:
Seeking an enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills, able to work independently and in a team. Must be qualified or willing to work towards MTU power generation products, with mechanical and electrical experience. Willingness to travel within the UK, Ireland, and occasionally overseas. Office-based role with some travel. Computer literacy in MS Office and familiarity with relevant software is required. Must hold a full UK driving license and be fluent in English. Qualifications include at least 5 years of relevant experience, with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and a willingness to pursue professional registration.
