A primary school in Forest Row is seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a child with Cerebral Palsy. This role offers a rewarding chance to have a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey.
Role Overview:
* Morning Hours Only: Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm (flexibility in hours may be possible).
* Start Date: Immediate start or January 2025.
* Focused Support: Deliver tailored, one-on-one support to a child with Cerebral Palsy, adjusting your approach to meet their unique needs and foster their growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Experience Working with Children: Prior experience with children with Cerebral Palsy is an advantage, but we encourage candidates with experience supporting children with varied needs or strong skills in child development and education .
* Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish a positive, trusting relationship with the child and foster a nurturing learning environment.
* Patience and Empathy: A calm, understanding, and compassionate approach to support both the learning and emotional needs of the child.
* Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to embrace new methods and tailor teaching strategies to meet specific needs.
* Commitment to Inclusive Education: Knowledge of creating and promoting an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates individual differences.
* Positive and Encouraging Demeanor: A passion for motivating and supporting the child's educational progress.
* Relevant Qualifications: While formal qualifications in education, childcare, or working with children with disabilities are a plus, they are not essential.
* Commitment to Child Welfare: Dedication to safeguarding and enhancing children's well-being.
