Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

Rate: Up to £15.61 per hour
Hours: Flexible agency shifts – long days & sleep-ins

About the Role
We’re looking for motivated and experienced Senior Support Workers to cover flexible shifts within the home. You’ll lead shifts, supervise staff, and provide high-quality care for young people. The role involves supporting daily activities, education, and statutory meetings, ensuring a therapeutic and consistent approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure consistent, high-quality care in line with regulations
* Support young people’s daily routines, education, therapy, and personal development
* Implement care plans, risk assessments, and LAC documentation, attending statutory meetings as required
* Safeguard young people, manage challenging behaviours, and promote positive outcomes
* Build strong relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals
* Assist with household tasks, budgeting, and maintaining a safe, homely environment
* Contribute to staff induction, training, and professional development
* Complete accurate reports, records, and administrative duties
* Provide cover for management when required
Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People Workforce (essential)
Experience
* Supporting young people aged 12–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential setting
* Leading shifts and supervising staff teams
* Completing reports and attending multi-agency meetings
* Experience with ASC, mental health, or complex needs (desirable)

* Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
* Resilient, empathetic, and able to manage challenging behaviour
* Flexible, person-centred, and committed to safeguarding
* Driver preferred but not essential
