Local Council are looking for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join them.
As part of the for Major Development Planning Team, within the area, you will be required to assist with the applications relating to the control of developments.
Duties and responsibilities include:-
* Handling all types of planning applications, but with specific responsibility for major and controversial proposals.
* Provide pre-application advice
* Completing of site inspections and surveys
* Research of applications
* Consultation with stakeholders, which include the public
* Negotiations
* Assisting Councillors and others to understand the proposals
* Lead development teams for major applications and planning performance agreements
* Preparation of reports
* Attending planning meetings and preparing planning appeal evidence
* Staff management and development
Experience Required:-
* Substantial and recent experience of Development Management and dealing with complex planning applications and appeals.
* Completion of committee presentations
* Able to analyse complex planning issues.
* Writing planning letters and reports and completing of evidence.
* Have an understanding of current law.
* People Management.
Qualification Required:-
* Ideally you will have a degree in Town and Country Planning, equivalent or experience.
* Leadership Qualification such as ILM Level 3
* Project Management or equivalent
