Description
As a Litigated Credit Hire Specialist here at Keoghs, you'll be at the heart of a team dedicated to championing clients' interests in high-stakes credit hire cases.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate Litigated Complex Credit Hire claims from a tactical and strategic perspective. The role of the File Handler is to carry out complex & technical investigations on claims submitted from specific opponents. These claims will be up to £25,000 in value.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an incredible team and gain more experience in investigating credit hire claims with a view to successfully repudiating the claims.

Key Accountabilities
The role involves managing a caseload of DA credit hire & injury files under supervision. Instructions are received at litigation, requiring full knowledge of handling RTA claims through to court conclusion.
Main responsibilities include:
* Reviewing and analyzing files throughout the case lifecycle
* Developing and maintaining client relationships
* Formulating initial strategies for approval
* Legal research
* Telephone negotiations with third-party solicitors
* Liaising with insured parties and insurers
* Completing actions as per the case management system
* Processing bills and ensuring ISO 9001 compliance
* Ensuring adherence to SRA Standards & Regulations
* Working in a target-driven environment
The role also requires understanding of court processes, including drafting defenses, completing questionnaires, evidence exchange, instructing counsel, and drafting relevant legal questions and schedules.
Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with 1-hour lunch.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience in litigation and handling Credit Hire files
* At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; a degree or LPC is preferable
* Initiative, planning, and prioritization skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to follow processes and recognize sensitivity
* Decision-making skills, ability to remain calm under pressure
* Good IT skills, experience with Case Management System preferred
Desirable:
* Experience handling PI claims
