About the role
Reporting into the Shift Manager the Team Lead will ensure that the employees in their departments perform within the roles assigned to them at every work shift. The Team Leader will have a great level of knowledge and understanding of the processes, procedures, and equipment within their production areas.
The Team Leader role is to support the Shift Manager effectively managing People, Product, Plant, Planning and Performance, all of which will be coordinated and managed across Production, Warehouse and H&S activities.
In addition, the role will mentor, support and develop the production teams.
The Team Leader will help drive H&S, Food Safety & Product Quality, Process compliance, Continuous Improvement, Cost Control & Cost Reduction for the end-to-end site operation.
The Team Leader will be confident in all system related tasks and will effectively teach other employees on how to do these tasks effectively and safely. Team Leader will know their equipment and machines to a level which allows them to identify minor faults.

Requirements
Health & Safety
· Work safely at all times in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, practices, and legislation.
· Promoting Risk Assessment management policies are implemented and adhered to, PTO, JSA. HIRA.PTW, toolbox talks etc.
· Carry out cleaning schedules in the production and packaging area ensuring a very high standard of hygiene/sanitation is achieved, in addition to placing emphasis on the Factory's "clean as you go" policy, being always audit-ready.
Leadership & Supervision
· Deputising for Shift Manager when required.
· Supervising production work during each shift to ensure its completion and quality.
· Supporting the induction and training of new production employees on the process workflows and conducting performance reviews.
· To ensure that the established methods of operators and standards of output, quality and hygiene are known to all relevant operatives within the Department and are always adhered to.
· Optimising staffing levels to ensure maximum efficiencies.
Operations & Efficiency
· Planning in availability of equipment for PPMs (Planned Preventive Maintenance) when required.
· Liaise with engineering and planning to maximise overall equipment efficiency.
· Aim to succeed and improve against departmental KPIs.
· ERP system understanding/s of stock control and management.
Quality Assurance
· Strive to attain best-in-class quality standards.
· Carry out cleaning schedules in the production and packaging area ensuring a very high standard of hygiene/sanitation is achieved.
· Understanding of Non-conformance and Audit based Quality systems.
Other Duties
· To carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the Shift Manager
