️ Process Controls Engineer - OT Cyber Security Pathway Teesside | Full-Time | Competitive Salary Training 2 Positions Available We're working with a growing engineering organisation in Teesside seeking Process Controls Engineers with solid PLC/DCS/SCADA experience and a strong interest in developing into OT Cyber Security. If you come from a Process Controls, Automation or E&I background—and want to move toward industrial cyber protection—this is the ideal next step. The Role You'll support and improve control and automation systems across advanced industrial sites while gaining hands-on exposure to OT security initiatives. Core responsibilities include: Supporting and optimising PLC, DCS, SCADA and ICS/PCN systems PLC programming, troubleshooting and modifications (Siemens, AB, Schneider, Mitsubishi, etc.) Maintaining and diagnosing DCS platforms (ABB, Honeywell, DeltaV, Yokogawa) Updating HMI/SCADA interfaces, alarms and operator workflows Supporting system upgrades, migrations and digital transformation projects Troubleshooting instrumentation, control loops and automation issues Assisting with OT security improvements (full training provided) Required Experience Background in Process Controls, Automation, E&I or similar Experience with at least one major PLC platform Exposure to SCADA or DCS systems in an industrial environment Understanding of process control networks and industrial communication protocols Strong instrumentation and process control fundamentals Ability to read P&IDs, electrical drawings and control philosophies ✨ Advantageous (Not Essential) Interest in OT/ICS Cyber Security Awareness of IEC 62443, NIST or industrial cyber practices Experience delivering system upgrades or modernisation projects Functional safety knowledge (IEC 61508/61511) What's on Offer Competitive salary benefits Formal OT Cyber Security and automation training Exposure to modern industrial technologies Long-term development and career progression If you're a controls or instrumentation engineer looking to step into one of the fastest-growing specialist areas in industry, this opportunity puts you right at the forefront.
