Join Our Team as a Support Worker in Motherwell and Wishaw!
Are you looking for a rewarding part-time job with meaningful impact? We are seeking new colleagues to join our #TeamNLCS in the Motherwell and Wishaw area!
We offer permanent contracts for 20-30 hours per week, along with relief opportunities for more flexible schedules.
The Role
You will play a vital role in supporting young people and adults with disabilities and additional needs in the community. Your main activities will include engaging in hobbies and outings such as activity clubs, swimming, gym visits, bowling, cinema trips, and social outings to the pub. Some individuals may also be studying at college, and you'll support them in attending their courses. Confidence in water is required as swimming is a regular activity.
You will also assist with daily living tasks, including attending appointments, shopping, meal planning and cooking, housework, managing finances, medication, and personal care.
About You
We value your transferable skills and personal qualities over previous experience or qualifications. We will provide all necessary training, fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7), and cover your SSSC registration fees. A full UK manual driving license is essential as the role involves supporting individuals with mobility cars.
What We Expect
* A caring and compassionate attitude
* Ability to work well in a team
* Good communication and organizational skills
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Cooking skills
* Confidence in using computers
Shift Patterns
We offer flexible shifts between 8:30 AM and 9:00 PM, 7 days a week. Support is provided on a rotational basis for weekends and public holidays, with the aim of working every second weekend. Shift lengths vary from 4 to 8 hours based on your preferences and the needs of those you support.
