Your new role
As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of planned maintenance projects across the council’s housing portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing contractors delivering upgrades such as kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows, and more.
2. Ensuring quality,pliance, and safety standards are consistently met.
3. Acting as the technical liaison between the council, residents, and contractors.
4. Supporting project delivery from pre-start to handover, including inspections and reporting.
What you'll need to succeed
5. Background in building surveying, construction, or property maintenance
6. Experience in social housing or public sector projects
7. Strong understanding of building regulations and quality standards
8. Excellentmunication and contractor management skills
