Job Title: Business Administration Apprentice Location of Job: Hill House School, 6th Avenue, Auckley, Doncaster, DN9 3GG We seek an apprentice to join us in our school office. Hill House is the leading co-educational, independent school in the area, situated in Auckley. It is an exciting and expanding school of some 800 children from age 3 to 18, where teachers can teach and children can learn. Monday to Friday 8 hours between 08.00 and 17.30. Lunch is provided. We can offer some assistance with transport Total hours per week: 40 Job Purpose: To ensure a high-quality administration service; to provide an accurate and timely typing and copying service; to provide general administrative support, to support Human Resources. Training: Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration(QCF) supported by on the job training, study time and one to one support from an assessor. Duties: Reception To be a point of contact for visitors to school, email and telephone enquiries. Answer telephone enquiries, greet visitors, liaise with children, parents and outside agencies. Ensure reception area and office is tidy and presentable at all times. Secretarial Support Type documentation, letters, documents, emails for members of staff. Ensure administrative support to whole school Liaise with parents and external bodies as required. Assist with maintenance of the filing system. HR Support Assist the HR Administrator with admin relating to recruitment, absence and personnel and training files. Maintaining databases and filing systems to the required standard. Office & General Administration Assist with email, phones mailings, etc as required. Manage correspondence from the office email addresses, responding to enquiries including the issue of the school prospectus. Producing any correspondence for staff as well as booklets and programmes as required. Provide a photocopying service to members of staff as necessary, ensuring that daily requirements are met correctly and in a timely manner. Providing cover for and assistance to other members of the administration team when absent and as required. Any other appropriate duties which, from time to time, may be required. Health and Safety & First Aid To deal with minor injuries to pupils within the limits appropriate to the holder of a one-day first aid certificate. Ensure the recording of accidents in accordance with the school’s policy and the holding of the prescribed records. Help maintain a safe working environment, maintain safe working practices at all times and advise the Bursar of any matters which may affect safety at work.
