As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Investment Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be a core technical contributor responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
The Debt Capital Markets Technology team is responsible for delivering insights to help aid the DCM Bankers in tracking down opportunities in the market through desktop and mobile applications.
Job responsibilities
* Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technically with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems.
* Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
* Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
* Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems.
* Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
* Drive best practices and standards within the team.
* Work closely with Product teams to generate ideas and deliver solutions to the business.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification in system design concepts, with proficient advanced experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
* Experience with automation and continuous delivery methods.
* Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
* Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile, etc.
* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
* Practical cloud-native experience.
* Knowledge of AWS Atlas.
* Experience with databases such as Postgres and MongoDB.
* Experience with React UI development and Java/Kotlin.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* AWS Certification.
* Expert Engineer (E2) certification.
* Experience with Agile methodologies.
