Emergency Department Assistant
* Work within a high‑pressure, fast‑moving emergency department environment.
* Prioritise and deliver patient care, maintaining high standards of practice.
* Ensure patients’ safety, privacy and dignity at all times.
* Assist with age‑related play and distraction therapy.
* Support the registered nurses and other staff in the department.
* Carry out duties assigned by the Department Managers and Matron, including surge support.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy and transforming Emergency Department as an Emergency Department Assistant. Our department serves approximately 450,000 residents, with increased demand during holiday seasons. We offer an innovative, creative and friendly environment for those who wish to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Applicants should be organised, IT‑literacy capable and able to prioritise a multitude of demands. A previous background in care and experience in an emergency department is desirable but not essential.
Flexible working is required – shift patterns run Monday to Sunday, days and nights, 365 days a year. Applicants are encouraged to visit the department for further insight.

Main Responsibilities
Essential patient care, safe transfer of patients around the hospital, waste management and maintenance of a hygienic environment.
Compliance with all relevant policies and procedures to maintain patient safety within the Emergency Department.
Ensuring patient safety, comfort and welfare and supporting patients’ relatives and advocates as required.
