Position
Sheltered Housing Support Officer – fixed term until 30/06/2027. Full time – 36 hours per week. Salary: £27,257 – £29,850 (pro‑rata for part‑time).
The role supports independent living for vulnerable adults in sheltered housing, provides person‑centred care, prevents hospital admission and long‑term care, and works with a range of agencies to promote community participation.
Responsibilities
* Provide and coordinate multi‑agency support, information and advice to vulnerable clients, promoting their independence.
* Gather and record client details, maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date records of contact.
* Carry out initial assessment of client needs and preferences, identify unmet needs and make referrals to other agencies or the Team Leader.
* Conduct risk assessments and advise the Team Leader of required actions; implement appropriate health and safety measures for service users in sheltered housing.
* Regularly review clients’ support and discuss effectiveness with the Line Manager.
* Respond to emergency events detected by inactivity monitoring or alarm system; make on‑the‑spot decisions, provide emergency personal care and first aid.
* Arrange or refer for social inclusion activities in partnership with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrate and test alarm systems, report and monitor faults.
* Comply with national care standards and SSSC regulations.
* Work core business hours Monday to Friday.
Requirements
* Valid UK driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.
* Completion of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 PVG Scheme (or an update check) and, if applicable, an overseas criminal record check for any continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years.
* Willingness to pass the required pre‑employment checks.
