Join our dedicated team in NHSBT organ donation and transplantation. You’ll be part of a programme team at the forefront of organ transplantation projects, ultimately saving and improving lives. The establishment of a national Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC) service will extend equitable access to life-saving products and treatments to everyone that needs them and bridge the gap between shortage of organs available and demand.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
• Managing OTDT projects to timely and successful conclusions.
• Ensuring that intended project outcomes are in alignment with the business strategies, that all project budgets are managed effectively, and all operational needs are met.
• Under the direction of the Programme and Portfolio Manager, the postholder will be responsible for the management of specific projects, ensuring that they are managed to the highest professional standards and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, regulation and instructions.
• Deputising for the Programme and Portfolio Manager as required and supporting assurance of projects and programmes across the organisation.
• Supporting OTDT portfolio build planning and reporting processes.
• The postholder may be expected to manage more than one project at any given time at different stages in their lifecycle.
• Participate in the development and improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme and Project Management tools and methods.
• Maintenance of all project artefacts, for example project/programme board update packs, project plans, runbooks, RAIDD logs.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
1. Significant project management experience, including managing risk and change, production of robust business cases, managing and monitoring budgets.
2. Experience of using project management tools and software to support effect scoping, planning, implementing, and monitoring progress. Experience of managing resources, including those not under direct line management control.
3. Good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools, in particular Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Visio.
4. Knowledge of how to effectively close projects and implement manage lessons learnt throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Training
5. Masters’ degree in relevant subject or demonstrable knowledge and experience to Masters’ level.
6. Evidence of training in project management methods (e.g. PRINCE II practitioner, agile, waterfall).
7. Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
