Technical Services Manager (MEP)
Location: South / West of the M25 and M11 Corridor (including Cambridge)
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum (DOE)
Start Date: Early 2026

Role Overview
An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to oversee the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) services across multiple construction projects. The role covers both pre-construction and project delivery, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and commercial alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a senior technical role requiring strong coordination between design teams, commercial teams, site management, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Oversight
* Oversee MEP services across multiple live projects simultaneously.
* Lead MEP design reviews, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and best practice.
* Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams to resolve technical issues.
* Ensure MEP installations are delivered in line with programme, quality, and cost requirements.
* Carry out technical audits and QA checks throughout installation phases.
* Support commissioning, handover, and final certification processes.
Pre-Construction & Tender Involvement
* Get involved at the front end of projects, supporting pre-construction activities.
* Manage and review MEP statutory and specialist subcontractor quotes.
* Provide technical input into tender submissions.
* Analyse tender returns and support subcontractor selection.
* Contribute to value engineering, buildability, and cost optimisation exercises.
Quality, Compliance & Standards
* Ensure all MEP works comply with current UK building regulations, British Standards, and project specifications.
* Monitor installation quality on site and manage non-conformances.
* Maintain accurate technical documentation and reporting.
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary technical point of contact for MEP-related matters.
* Liaise closely with project managers, commercial teams, site teams, consultants, and clients.
* Provide technical guidance to site-based teams.
* Attend design meetings, site inspections, and progress meetings as required.
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in a Technical Services Manager, MEP Manager, or similar role within the construction industry.
* Strong background in MEP/building services, ideally within a main contracting environment.
* Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
* Solid knowledge of UK building regulations and MEP compliance.
* Strong understanding of design coordination and technical assurance processes.
* Commercial awareness, including tender analysis and subcontractor management.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Willingness to travel across sites in the South / West of the M25 and M11/Cambridge corridor.
